Build a blogger list in your niche

  1. Make a copy of this blogger outreach template before you start.

  2. Head to Google and type in one of the following search queries:

    • Top blogs + “niche”

    • Best sites + “niche”

    • Top influencers + “niche”

    • Major bloggers + “niche”

Note: Replace “niche” with the niche that your business is in. We’ll use “meditation” as an example for the rest of this SOP.

3. Use one of the search queries in #2 + the niche keyword for your business.

4. You should see a few list articles with potential bloggers you can reach out to.

5. Right click on each of the the articles on the first page of Google and open them in a new tab.

6. Identify the URL of the blogs mentioned and add them to the Bloggers outreach template under “URL”.

Note: If the article doesn’t show or link to the blog URL, you can search for the brand name on Google and grab the URL from there instead.

7. Next, get the blog contact information. To do this, download the hunter.io extension (ChromeFirefox).

8. Visit the blog URL and click on the Hunter extension.

9. Note down the contact information and add them to the bloggers outreach template.

10. Next, identify of the name of the person you’re going to contact. There are a couple ways to do this:

    • Identify the name if it’s present in the hunter search results.

    • Visit the about page (in the top or footer navigation) and look for the blog owner/editor/manager’s name.

Note: If you can’t find the contact name, you can skip and move on to the next contact name.

Once you found the name, add them to the Bloggers outreach template under “Name”.

11. Once you’ve filled in the blog URL, contact information, and name of the contact, your template should look like this:

12. Repeat step 3-11 until you have at least 50 contacts.

Send outreach emails to bloggers

  1. First, fill out the following questions:

    • Name of your product: - Example: MeditationX.

    • The problem that your product is trying to solve. - Example: Meditation app that improves sleep quality and reduces stress.

    • Why did you create this product. - Example: We created this medtationX because none of the meditation app in the market helped us reduce stress.

  2. Then make a copy of this template (Cold email for asking a product review or paid promotion) and replace the text highlighted in blue for your outreach email.

  • Here’s a completed example:

3. Once you’ve drafted your outreach email, send it to each of the contacts in your outreach template. Remember to personalize the email by addressing the recipient’s first name.

4. If you’ve received positive feedback for your product, send a follow up email and ask if they’d be willing to run a paid promotion on their blog. You can find this from the cold outreach email template (Follow-up email)

5. Repeat this process until you’ve hit your outreach goal.
